First and foremost, a big congrats to Dave for making the step out on his own and opening his own shop, in his neighbourhood, built (if you follow his Instagram) with his own blood, sweat and tears. If that's not a feel good story that makes your hair follicles tingle, I don't know what is.
If you, like me, used to get your hair cut at The Nite Owl in Longbranch just a few blocks west, you'll also recognize that along with Dave, familiar faces like Mike and Jara have come along for the Black Collar ride.
It's a really great space, lovingly built and decorated with bits of Dave's Irish and Newfoundlander background mixed with some slick new black leather barber chairs and vintage finds.
I've been now for three cuts and the banter and shenanigans remind me of early days at Nite Owl when it was only three barbers (Dave being one of them). It's a great place for the fellas to hang out, get a hair cut and relax.
I'm super proud to be a customer here and will continue to support Dave as a cornerstone of the community!
